unfair dismissal

No mandated staff/resident ratios in Australian aged care facilities AND no mandated minimum skill set required. A case of government ignoring our elderly and frail? Also, discussions regarding your workplace issues, management, culture of your workplace, etc.

unfair dismissal

Yes life sucks- I was asked to apply for a manager's position back in November and since the introduction of FAIR WORK AUSTRALIA I was unfairly dismissed after 5 months for what??? No reason was given. Now I am unemployed with no jobs available in my local area!!!

ring the workplace ombudsman and Fair Work Australia, but I think you can't complain unless you worked 6 months straight. (Hmm, Mr Rudd). There's something called 'general protections' though which apply even if retrenched in the 6 month period. Cheers. Let us know if that helps.
