Wandering in Aged Care Facilities

Hi, I'm creating this thread to seek information and advice about wandering in aged care facilities amongst people with Dementia or Alzheimers. I am doing research in this field for a charity organisation and firstly would like to know how common wandering is in aged care facilities? Also what kind of systems are currently in place to manage wandering when it occurs? How does wandering impact both the patients themselves, their families and the aged care staff?
